I started watching it this evening and it's wonderful. I haven't really seen anything else from Ken Burns yet as famous as he is, but episode 1 is great. Very moving.

I watched about half of the first episode last night. I'm also really digging it. The show seems to be very well done and with a lot of depth. :)

This is totally awesome! I shared it with my friend who's an astronomy nut as well. He did something just like this in the 90s sending his name to Mars. I put my name in and set my pin code as 1725, the middle year of my favorite decade (1720 - 1730)
I was also very heavy into astronomy when I was a kid. I sent my name up on the last 2 Mars rover missions. I didn't even know they were doing it for this one until I saw it in my news feed today at work. :)

I just read it again and saw that they will splashdown off the coast of San Diego. I hope it's close enough to see the at least part of the return.
