I don’t get the motive of people who want ALL artists to use gen ai.. logically, that would cause gen ai to be worse because it is consuming itself, which would make it have more mistakes, and not all things last forever, so why are they treating it as such? isn’t that want they want? to make artists use ai and not draw, which gen ai ACTIVELY consumes that would make it get worse?? what IS the motive here???
It's not only the issue of Model Autophagy Disorder (AI feeding on itself), but new generations of artists who rely on generative AI instead learning the skillsets that gen AI replaces. It's not too dissimilar from the skillsets of yesteryear that began with modernization, and ended with not only obsolescence, but outright extinction..
You ask the: "motive of people who want ALL artists to use gen AI". You ARE familiar with the model of capitalism right? Growth for growth's sake? It's not like these are artists, scholars and scientists preaching us to use this technology. It is commercially fueled by a capitalist model, whose sole purpose is to make more money than last year, at all costs.
@win1999 some people on the internet think that, and I do not know capitalism, sorry.. most schools are now having ai in their curriculum so AI is constantly being shoved down our throats for some reason, and also there are still bound to be artists not using gen ai in the near future, so gen ai is not gonna take over, because if it did. it would collapse due to it feeding on itself, as you said.
the only purpose I would see for these gen AI companies is that they're able to help higher-ups dilute what's considered real and fake. like, they're starting to develop relatively quickly where it's difficult to spot the difference between what's an real image taken by a person compared to an algorithm generated false information. same thing with research papers; kurzgesagt made a video on how AI's affected them
there is good news to this though, AI models build off of thousands of terabytes of information and can't progress without more data, hence data centers. eventually it will hit a ceiling where it can't progress anymore due to a lack of information. it just sucks though bc it pushes them to make titanic-sized AI data centers which affects so so so many people
@glowflix yeah I agree, they will hit it sooner since so many gen ai models will consume ai (if they stick to rules they have now, which suck.), leading to the bubble finally popping by the needle (which will destroy the economy, dang..) I can't even build a pc anymore, why is ram so expensive?? (I know why btw) I do like the process of art so that's why I haven't turned to ai yet, and that it's bad for nature.
man, I can't believe I went to 0 to over 100 followers! that's pretty crazy already, and we are almost gonna hit 140 followers and 50k views! thanks y'all for a great christmas :D (I also realized I got more views during christmas, huh.
aren't you [CENSORED]? that means you're legally or not legally an adult? or is it higher in your country?? either way, once you have enough money. run away in the night, cut her off and block all her contacts and never reply to her messages. also bring this to reddit or any social contact besides neocities if you can, they may help actually. heard of it, r/narcissisticparents maybe..
