You answered my question about the GOG / Heroic Launcher / Proton thing. Thank you!
This is great, I didn't realize the Steam Deck could let you play GOG games as well. I actually haven't looked much into GOG compatibility with Steam OS because I assumed the lack of the proton layer would mean a lot of games that might be accessible on Steam with Proton wouldn't be accessible on GOG since it lacked the Proton layer. Does the Heroic launcher add the proton layer to GOG games?
I've contributed reviews for the games on Proton DB that I've played. I read on Verge recently that Steam are adding a way to track frame rate on steam to check game compatibility. This is a good idea because I noticed the games that don't work for me on Steam (Linux) because of Proton have problems with frame rate as the major thing.

Hear hear! I settled on Lutris for GOG and other PC games, almost all worked perfectly. When my PC died I plugged HDMI into the dock and used it as a desktop for a few days as well, and it was a wonderful and quiet experience.

@Pixelglade I've actually had someone else ask me about GOG gaming on Steam Deck, so I hope to write something up about all that. I'd have to look deeper into Heroic Launcher as I've only installed it and not explored how it actually works yet.
A more thorough look at GOG games on the Steam Deck would be awesome. If you ever find the time!
