It's so beautiful! May I ask how it works? (Like do you use an extrenal guestbook provider?)
@theliterarybisexual It uses a discord webhook! I followed this tutorial: https://learn.sadgrl.online/create-a-form-on-neocities-using-discord/
Ah that's very clever, thank you for the link! Will you then manually post the comments to the website? (Sorry for all the questions, I've been looking into different ways of creating my own guestbook and I really like yours!)
It's gorgeous. The way you've tilted the sections so they look like postcards or letters is amazing. I actually really like you've approached this using Javascript (Webhook to Discord is a great idea) I was actually thinking of using something similar to set up a comment box, since I don't like using third party applications that are probably collecting extra info and all that, so nice work. :)
@pixelglade Thank you very much !! Yeah, I held off on getting a comment box for a while because of the same reason. Special thanks to sadgrl for the webhook idea!
I've been procrastinating on my guestbook for the same reason so it's great to see an alternative!
nice!! Ive recently made a guestbook by using javascript to send me an email; this discord method looks really clean too :o
Maybe it's just been awhile since I visited but "it is from the desire to share these loves and creations and a hatred of the modern social media space that this was born.", I think many of us can relate. Love your site. <3
Thank you so much!
Where do you get your public domain images? These ones are really good :-)
@anolesquailsandmaybecattails Sorry for the late reply, oops! I mainly get mine from the British Library Flickr and Old Book Illustrations !
