agree, being on neocities isn’t about gaining followers fast, but I need more visits and followers to gain more sales bc my site is basically promoting my shop
hi!! my motivation really comes and goes for this site, but my biggest piece of advice is really just to pace yourself. take your pages slow and remember to take breaks. this is the easiest way to combat burnout for me ^_^
okay and as for gaining followers (which ancientcrypt is right, usually that's not the point) but i understand that your website is your shop, so I would treat it just as a business. if you're off of social media that's going to be a little more difficult in my opinion, but definitely still doable. making a small update to your site everyday puts it in "global activity" everyday, which helps with people seeing (1)
your site everyday. also join webrings, cliques, fanlistings, etc. and make friends! that's my biggest piece of advice. you ARE on neocities (which we like to believe is way different than social media, but it's not, really -- besides just being on the indie web). if you're passionate about what you're doing, people will follow.
i would be more than happy to share some more thoughts and opinions if you want ^_^ shoot me an email or a DM on discord!
Oh tysm for the helpful tips, I'm gonna finish my mini JS games on my site first for the global activity part (will DM you on discord later for more)
Tks! My site is still under construction, I'm editing images to upload here and finish js files. I was looking for webdev tutorial webs here so I found you ;)
I'm not gonna close my POD shops (Redbubble and INPRNT) but I suppose my audience doesn't like my designs so maybe that's why I don't get many sales, have been promoting my products on Pinterest and Instagram. I'm a casual Kpop listener, not a MOA but more TXT Crown era fanart I haven't finished painting, too busy with webdev assignments. Cannot imagine how TXT concert would look like but I envy you TT
tysm for buying my first TXT fanart!!! Haven't finished reading TXT webtoon series, I was supposed to paint redvelvet era first
TYSM new crochet keychain tutorial videos and new utau covers are coming soon! I didn't get many sales from selling art on Redbubble tho...
heyy okay so as far as motivation goes i'm simply a goal oriented person so i just set a specific goal (for you it could be finishing a page) and i divide that into all the small tasks that involves and i don't feel satisfied if i don't check off at least a few things every day. i also find that the best way to stay motivated past the first few days is to have someone you can chat to about how its going
Oh yeah I forgot to socialize... Today I'll re-record the crochet mini TXT Boy With Horns character tutorial footages. It's gonna drain me out before finishing a page, thanks for the advice tho
