Uh oh, it looks like the person hosting the PHP for the Native Neocities Hit-Counter (https://dannarchy.com/tut/tut_002) recently took down their website, so now weirdscifi.ratiosemper.com leads to nothing. Is there an alternative? The info on the Neocities API on your tutorial also seems outdated, I get a "Forbidden" error whenever I enter my site name

weirdly enough the redirection from the tutorial seems broken, if i type "https://neocities.org/api/info?sitename=infi-power" in my address bar, it works fine???

yeah the Neocities API lets you type the URL in directly but not get referred to it by another site, so I can't use it on mine. Ratiosemper's PHP let you get around this but now it's gone

I'll check on the proxy site, but yeah, if you have a free account, it won't work anyway, since external calls after the initial load are not allowed.

I forgot who originally said it since I initially missed it, but thank you to whoever said Vivaldi has a built-in adblocker too. I can now leave Brave with peace-of-mind knowing that my browser will still be blocking ads when Manifest V2 support inevitably gets phased out and breaks uBlock Origin. (I really need a Chrome-based browser unfortunately. Also I tried Ungoogled Chromium but it kept breaking some sites)

Nevermind this sucks. I thought Vivaldi still had Manifest V2 for uBlock Origin support but it's GONE gone, and the built-in Vivaldi adblocker is really bad. Back to Brave I guess

I would like to retract my previous statement about wanting to pay for a browser. I have way too many thoughts about this topic that I wanna cram into this post but the tl;dr is that I'm worried about how free browsers are going to evolve (or run out of funding) over time

I would try Zen with uBlock Origin first, but if you're like me and need to use something Chrome-based for certain web apps that don't support Firefox, then Brave with all the crypto crap disabled is pretty much the only option

Should've mentioned why I feel chained to Brave- the Manifest V3 shit crippled uBlock on Chrome, so I just kinda lean on the custom adblocker inside Brave and hope for the best. I don't believe there's a Chrome fork that still supports Manifest V3

Many chromium browsers still support v2, including brave. I think ungoogled chromium should support it
