i like the new UN map its definitely better than mercator projection. but they should've went with winkel-tripel, which is even better.

It's kind of interesting seeing (usually older) people talk about AI as if it became an aspect of their digital (or even overall) life as important as the Internet itself. Has it really become so irreplaceable and this big of a deal for some people? I never really felt its existence in terms of utility beyond a last resort/lazy tool that often doesn't even work that well.

Cant say i never used LLMs, im not some paragon of virtue in that regard. but if they disappeared itd probably take me a month to notice and id be glad about it. Just strange and scary seeing how other people integrated it into their workflow so much they couldn't do anything without it

in my experience peoplewatching i see people using chatgpt on their phones a lot more often than youd expect. i think a lot of people treat it like a new google search

Same here- it's probably because people experiment with disabling their neocities profiles all the time. Usually the number goes back up later when they re-enable
