In Canada everyone calls you buddy, bud, etc. Sometimes it's friendly and full of endearment, and other times it's full of vitriol. So funny that it's not that way everywhere. Northerners do not give out their names to strangers unless they really know them. I'm not exempt! I have a whole fake persona I tell people that ask about me in the street. I just don't want a rando finding me again. You can really only connect with people that are also engaging in hobbies with you tho like people you run into on a hiking trail or going to a car show.
