Question for my fellow shrine writers: Do you like to explain all of the backstory of something, assuming the reader will mostly just be reading your page? Or do you link to other/better explanations? Sometimes I just want to get to the fun obscure part so I link wikipedia, but I don't know if anyone ever actually follows that.

I always (wrongfully) assume that anyone visiting my shrine already knows what the thing I'm talking about is but I still want to do an introduction out of politeness so I write a pretty simple summary of the story of the thing at the start and then I get to the actually interesting part

thoughts on the new shrine layout? the decap robot organ one is just a test to see how the new format can be changed. i think i might want to change the file background colors to better match the background image. but what do you guys think?

OMG new shrine layouts looks absolutely delightful! I agree with @samsolarsystem the tabs are a wonderful idea for the shrine! Also a good reminder I need to watch 'Operation Mincemeat'.

oh you are makingn me so tempted to try again at creating unique shrine pages (mostly becuase the navigation of a long scroll sucks now that some of my shrines are crazy long) but also also for the vibes

yes yes yes!!! i love when sites have shrines that are in a completely different format from the rest of the site in order to match the vibes of whatever the shrine is for... half the reason I created this site was to have a peter sellers shrine. Although now I think the Dr. Strangelove shrine is my magnum opus. I would LOVE to see your operation mincemeat stuff get its own special little shrine page !!!

Honestly the Minecemeat one feels like a stub lol compared to say, my 5000 Fingers of Dr. T or Peppers Ghost shrines that are genuinely getting unruly. I dont have much to say about Mincemeat im just rotating them in my mind. but i think if i try to do all of mine like that ill burn myself out so ill startwith a couple and they can be the special exceptions :]
