tysm i appreciate ur comment! i am into older anime myself too! I really love Trinity blood (2005), it isnt that old but i barely see people talking about, its all about vampires and the church. A show with a similar premise is Chrono Crusade (2003), also about the church and hunting down the apostles reincarnations
Older anime recommendations are Fushigi Yuugi (1995) a girl goes inside a book and ends up turning to a priestress that will help the world inside the book. Please Save my earth (1993), a bunch of kids are having weird dreams about being scientists from the moon, stationed to monitor earth. Yawara (1989) is all about a girl who has a great gift with judo but she just wants to be a normal girl, fun watch!
