Cool review! In my experience, the best football game on the GBA is Konami's Winning Eleven. Although only released in Japan, you can find a (mostly)complete translation online. But for a non-football fan like you, I'd recommend Pro Beach Soccer. You might find that one fun.

Absolutely agree that the game LOOKS great visually if nothing else. I kinda love the dopey looking lives counter and just as dopey looking armoured horse.

my heart leapt at "mystery dungeon styled" i'd never heard of then slowly and steadily plummeted lol. i guess for gba it's just pokemon mystery dungeon and the monster gates for shiren-likes.

Dokapon review makes me sad, the pixel art is absolutely wonderful for a game that sounds very annoying to actually play. Seems a bit like Azure Dreams if it was bad.

Okay, next review is done, and coming out this coming Monday (AEST)! With me being on break, I can hopefully can a little stockpile of reviews coming out, maybe I'll tackle a few smaller games to give myself a breather. In other news, I continue to slowly update the formatting of old reviews to make them style sheet compatible, and I'm also making a silly little new page because I love ranking stuff!

I've heard that retroArch has an option that automatically connects it to Google Translate, that might help a little, at least in figuring the basics on what's going on. (Also, I've heard that Wade Hixton's Counter Punch is a good Punch-Out!! clone, I've been wanting to try that one out myself)
Oh, I hadn't actually heard about that. I'll look into it. Some games I can make do with just a bit of Google Lens and otherwise just throw myself in, but with stuff a little more complicated or story-based it might be good.
