Short chapter this time around because I've been feeling creatively bankrupt in every way. I want to be able to draw again but art block is driving me mad. Also, LSD turns two years old tomorrow! Not sure if I'm gonna do anything to celebrate the anniversary though lol

@ Onlytrichromatic this is the correct answer. Hong is older than time itself <3 Though they haven’t always existed in this form… Reincarnation is tricky.

I have a bunch of old writings in my files that ought to be dug up and given a new life... I remember back when I first started taking this site seriously one of the first things I'd posted was a story about people turning into computers or some shit that actually predates 'The Laconic Student's Dilemma' by a few months. I wanna see if I can find it and fix it up a bit...

At this point I've stopped caring if my writing is "good" or "bad", I <3 uploading my BULLSHIT to the internet and forcing you all to read it.

this takes me back to when we sit around in classes and have to decipher poems. i dont have anything deep to say abt it but i love surrealist works like this (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) "we are so unbelievably fucked" lol

@ Yunkosjeskt I remember back in high school having to do similar stuff, I always took things very literally and it was hard for me to see beyond the face value of a writing. I mean, with this story you could also take it at face value.

Okay this is stupid but it was genuinely eating away at me so like. Here. I compiled a list of albums I've been listening to on loop that for sure have influenced my writing of Vol. 1 so far. Honorable mention to "Oranges and Lemons" by XTC and "Slow Motion Apocalypse" by Grotus. I've already revealed too much to the masses I will never be this open about lore ever again. https://palmistshouse.net/lsd/albums.png

That first drawing on the LSD page is actually a redraw of https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/122993162 this doodle from the second volume of the original Laconic Student's Dilemma comic (I changed some things in the new version but essentially it's the same drawing)

The "new and modern" fix for marquees seems like way more work than it should be, but I'm not a coding genius so certainly there is a valid reason for this^^
Also Chrome is like the lowest common denominator of web browsers (besides like Internet Explorer or whatever it's called now) like Jeez I feel like there's just so many issues with it. Firefox has yet to let me down.
...they don't seem to work for me on firefox either, are they working for you? Maybe there's a good reason marquees are obsolete but I don't know what it is therefore its BS ^_^
@ Onlytrichromatic they are working for me just fine on both Firefox and my phone’s browser… Interesting! I don’t really understand why marquees are considered “outdated” either. Everyone says they’re ugly and outdated but provide no explanation. It’s like they want everyone to just bloat their sites with redundant CSS and JS? Sorry not all of us have NASA computers lmao
exactly! okay they're ugly so what??? that's not a good reason lol. like I've literally seen threads of people asking how to do xyz on stackexchange and people will just respond with "don't do that it's ugly and outdated" okay how about you kys (joking obvz but yeah)
Yeah literally stupid as hell. I blame tech bro gentrification for all that nonsense; everyone's now more focused on making their sites "technically impressive" with the "latest cutting edge" CSS/JS/what have you when you can do the exact same thing way simpler with beginner-level HTML. Who cares if it's ugly? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It just feels like we're reinventing the wheel over and over again.
I probably sound like a boomer right now and I have nothing against CSS/JS personally but I try to avoid using a ton of scripts and stuff on my website because my computer is a bit older and my internet is poor since I live in the boonies. I prefer everything to be as simple as possible so it doesn't take 300 years to load/freeze my computer.
no I totally agree. I find JS fun for projects but honestly I avoid complex stuff because it makes my brain hurt. @_@ and yeah this is the fault of tech bros.
