I've been in a very similar situation so I understand your pain and hope things are improving. I had a breakdown at my desk, abruptly quit and went to drive tractors for 6 months before coming back to software development. Your plan sounds better. Fewer tractors, though.

i think neocities pings every page that gets updated (and in seemingly random, incomplete order), even if it's just something minor like updating the metadata
