I wouldn't even bother. I tried advertising for months and only two Neocities people ever actually came. Everyone is far too lazy to get off discord.
I just want to join an IRC channel where people talk, and for months off and on have been highly unsuccessful. Usually I tried doom channels
But just so you know, if you are advertising on your page, I would make it on the front if it isn't, because I couldn't find it and relied on the first comment to get there :) I'm in there now but I have to go to work. I'll leave myself in though.
Also, I love the overall idea behind your website. Each button leading to a completely different graphical theme with the same buttons, only different. It looks like it took way longer to create than my own, but in fairness I just uploaded website #73 in 20 years lol. It was a rehash of #63. I literally have every single one. If I wanted I could probably do something similar to this, but I'd be copying for sure.
Thank you so much, jlehr!! Yeah I've been working on my website to some degree for over a year now. It's my baby. I used to advertise #neocities on the front page but recently gave up on the whole experiment altogether. I hope your channel fares better. To be honest, it's been difficult to find an IRC channel that isn't "idler central" for 10-15 years now. Some say it's always been like that but I distinctly remember
an era when IRC channels where constantly popping with activity day and night up until the late 2000s or thereabouts. Now you're lucky if you find a channel that has three hours of activity on a daily basis...
I think social media killed everything, which is a shame because there aremt like minded nerds just everybody and no anonymity at all. I mean thay can also be a good thing.
So I put everything I've made as of 2020 on three mp3 discs last year. I haven't sold many but no one is bidding if anyone wants to jump on this $20 deal. There are fourteen discs worth of stuff on this thing including the Project Warlock full soundtrack
I now have real CDs for sale. So far: Plugged and Makina. Way more coming!!! Sorry for the advert, some people may be curious.
