I think the upside-down US flag should be normalized to everyday life, signifying "The people here are actually great once you pry them away from social media and ignore how paid-off and useless all our federal politicians are." Like god dammit man I want to have a country flag that doesn't automatically mean I endorse literally everything everyone else here does
I'm personally on a mission to reclaim the idea of being a real American, but it's in a loving human rights and actual true freedom way cause that's what America is about. The American flag is for the real American people not whatever the fascist boot-licking bigots like to call themselves.
Also, the upside down flag represents a nation in crisis. In our nation is indeed in a crisis. Our working force is suffering right now from low wages and massive amounts of labor. I truly free society should also be one that takes care of its working class.
i really strongly feel this too. i was thinking about showing im from texas on my site and such and im like.. but i dont want to look odd-- at the same time, not a bad idea to use the upside down american flag. i like that
non-american here! uh, i do think that people undermine how important it actually is to see people who are OPENLY related to something and actively oppose it. actually, being from a conservative state and not being conservative and speaking about it is very based. it actually helps NOT normalizing harmful stuff and not treat it as default for any group or nation.
it makes people feel much safer and calm and not doubting themselves as much for holding an opinion that seemingly goes against a mainstream message in whatever group were talking about.
so say yes to mentioning your origin and say yes to reclaiming your identity and most importantly say no to whatever the hell your government or some group youre a part of is doing. 👍 keep up the good work y'all!
i don't think americans who like their country are endorsing everything their government does, its fine to represent yourself and your country without going like. "patriotic" about it. love your state! love your country! it's a beautiful land! the people in charge dont change that
unfortunate lore I know: the westboro baptist church displayed their american flag upside down, and a rainbow american flag sideways above it. kinda looked like the gay flag was fucking the america one in the ass imo LMAO... but its the westboro baptist church doing that so, you can imagine what theyre trying to say with that.
Yeah the "upside-down flag means country is in crisis" can be used to say many different things, but at least it's not a blanket "I love everything about the US" that displaying the flag right-side up does. It makes people stop and go "I wonder what kind of crisis that flipped flag is referring to" and not "God not another one of these lunatics"

Glad this idea is well-received, I think using an upside-down US flag more often is the way to go
