ok i'm probably going to immediately get overwhelmed and regret posting this but. i've been feeling very stuck music-wise lately and would love to hear some reccs of new artists or albums that i don't know yet if ppl have them (this includes popular music btw, sometimes i feel like i really know nothing about music and am totally out of the loop, and i'm really trying to correct that this year)
current song on repeat is "my moon my man" by feist, as well as "riverside" by america :) america has some really good songs so i recommend you peruse their discography :D
May I suggest Basic Printer and The Doddies? If you want something "weirder" El Cuarteto De Nos. They have satirical, political, and surprisingly pretty normal music. You just have to truly dive in it. I guess their music is kind of alternative rock? I recommend Calma Vladimir, and Lo Malo De Ser Bueno, but I think that song would be hard to translate into English since it uses a lot of wordplay.
i think you would like herb alpert's song, "Spanish Flea"- but if thats not your speed, "belle pepper" by louie zong is very good. i make playlists so im obligated to pay attention here lol
some of my current favourite artists include: Hippo Campus, COIN, The Fray, Noah Kahan, Mumford & Sons, Fall Out Boy, Shacke One, Oh Wonder, Pöbel MC, Monetochka, The Shins
if youre down for international artists i HIGHLY recommend zé ibarra's album 'AFIM', its in portuguese so it might not be your cup of tea lol, but it reminds me a lot of early 80s brazilian music
I always listen to pinkpantheress when I am sad and it makes me less sad :] im also really into magdelena bay, men i trust, and faye webster
my favorite album oat is tamago by Betcover. It's a Japanese jazz-rock album that just gets sooo gritty its awesome
