olly actually finish and push any updates ever challenge (impossible difficulty)
i wanted to have an update out a couple days ago because the 15th of july is i guess the birthday of my domain olly.place. but i also thought it would be worth not stressing myself out over things i can do literally any time at all. i want my website to always feel nice to work on, not stressful

oh wait yeah so yes olly.place (the domain) is now a year old! its crazy that i've had it for so long already, the site as a whole is gonna be turning 2 in a couple months...

my new blog page is gonna be designed similarly to like MSN messenger from windows 98, and with that comes a friends list panel. if anyone wants their *blog page* directly linked to then let me know! EVERYONE LOOK INTO EMMET/HTML SNIPPETS IMMEDIATELY!!! ive been using them for a while, but emmet *variables* have changed my life. I use snippets for my blog and microblog posts, because it lets me type one word and have it expand into a html template i defined so its WAY easier to start writing posts. HOWEVER variables can enter the date and time automatically so i literally type "micro" and start typing the post :D

im in the middle of working on my blog and about page redesigns and learned about emmet variables and felt the need to share. in other news i've figured out an actually really elegant solution to in-page content swapping with ONLY HTML AND CSS!!! i will share soon
oh ok and now i'm redesigning everything because i like this blog so much ok wow yay

ok, not ready enough to be pushed, but I remade and redesigned the blog page and i LOVE how it looks now!! i'm really excited to finish this up tomorrow and get the first of many remade pages uploaded :D
(i'm also surprised i actually managed to get so much done with it today, it is not like me to say im gonna do something tomorrow and then ACTUALLY do it tomorrow)

uni deadlines are over, gonna get back on my site overhaul again so i can FINALLY have an outlet online again. i've missed working on this site so much, its insane to me how well my adhd riddled brain has committed to this (coming up on 2 years in a couple months, crazy to think about.... wow......)

i might just set myself the challenge of getting some of it ready enough so i can push the new homepage at least asap, even unfinished. I just want to get the ball rolling on the site update because otherwise im falling right back into that development limbo i talked so much about avoiding on my blog... I do have to test compatibility for quite a lot of stuff though because i've made some kinda experimental stuff

completely missed out the most critical word there. TOMORROW! setting myself the challenge of getting SOME of it ready ENOUGH, TOMORROW!
I ACTUALLY UPLOADED THE NEW BLOG PAGE!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!!!
there are 2 new posts but the main thing is that i remade and redesigned the whole thing if you wanna have your blog linked in the Blog Friends panel let me know (you get to design your own 16x16 profile icon for it too if you want) :D
oh and last thing, I came up with my own in-page content swapping method which is ENTIRELY HTML and CSS. no JS at all, and it works WONDERFULLY!! i will share more soonish, but basically it just uses the :has() and the :target pseudo classes to show and hide stuff with CSS, its awesome and I love it. let me know if there are any issues with it though i havent tested it across devices and browsers fully
