You've done the wiser thing (I assume) and hid your face under several layers of links. as god intended. make it a scavenger hunt

I've only used a couple of her snippets but I don't get the hype for her (and her site builder doing a lot of damage to the newbies here)

i do wish people would experience the fun and joy of learning html themselves instead of a template its not a difficult process :(

I remember looking up to her when I was new to the neocities stuff, but now I've got my own thing going on and I hardly touch most of the sites on the "websites" tab.

On the Yesterweb: this reminds me of an article I came across while looking at the activity feed (https://suboptimalism.neocities.org/writings/yesterweb). I didn't keep up with the Yesterweb community so reading this was pretty fascinating at the time.

I think sagrl's site a good resource, especially when you're just getting started, but I have no feelings on her as a "person", per say :P

as a person built mostly on templates i think its an awesome way to learn html and expand your skills by learning to manipulate those templates! but the yesterweb... i get it. something rubbed me the wrong way about it, i think.

I think her site is a good jumping off point, the only issue I see with resources like that is, copying and pasting code from a premade template creates a crutch, atleast that's how I see it. You won't learn what does what, all you'll know is that, that template creates THAT specific thing. Installed a local web server, like xampp is a good way to practice without using a live environment.

using templates is like using deviantart anime bases - an okay starting point, but if you want to make something that's truly your own, you're gonna eventually have to take off the training wheels (saying this as a former base user ;P)
