why not use a cheap desktop pc then no more battery issues? That's what I'm planning to do
I had friends and family willing to part with a laptop they didn’t need anymore. Thus far nobody has been as forthcoming with a PC.

You can find some banging deals on ebay if you're willing to part with £30-40, target specific office desktops like Dell Optiplex, sort by lowest price, and select everything except "for spares or repairs"
