I think your page looks good, though it would be cool if you differentiated your personal site from Peelopaalu some. My current look is just a bunch of older sites I used to visit mashed into one essentially, maybe doing some archive scavenging would help create some inspiration.
Although I abandoned Peelopaalu years ago, I 100% get it. I'm very much checked out of the online world these days, so I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to thinking what to actually use my site for. I'm not super 100% locked into the concept of making my site a nostalgia-hole, I feel like I could do something more interesting/different with it if I put my mind to it.
I don't necessarily view my design as purely a nostalgia hole so to speak even if I did draw from past inspirations. I honestly just think 00s web design was flat out superior to what we have now and consquently want my site to look like that. There is some Neocities nostalgic flair to my design no doubt about it but I did put real effort into making it navigable and cohesive.
I think that a lot in this space don't realise that older sites had design principles too and didn't just try to overload the visitor. Like most genuine 00s sites didn't have gif overload, radically changing pages/a new look for every html file, etc. They did however assume that visitors had a modicum of intelligence and were capable of finding their way around the site.
But that said I totally get the drive to do something new and creative as opposed to the same things you've already seen before especially given how long you've been around on the net. There are lots of good art projects and absurdly creative layouts on Neocities, so I will keep my eyes peeled to see what you come up with!
