I remember working at Home Goods and my manager destroying things before putting things in the dumpster. Not just home decor, but gourmet honey, english tea, preserves, dainty little tea cookies. It made me sad then, and it still does. idk... kindness is as easy as sharing things one doesn't need anymore
a darling friend of mine used to scavenge the intentionally-broken b&b works candles and melt down the wax into tea cups she thrifted. she made so many beautiful gifts. I still have the candle she made for me-- a vanilla candle she found dumpster diving melted into a cutesy little tea rose vessel.

Before they started locking the Little Caesar's dumpster after they closed I absolutely ate fresh (boxed! right on top!) dumpster pizza.
A lot of places also intentionally destroy whatever they're throwing away. So wasteful
