I searched my email for in the aeroplane over the sea and I found the cover my high school boyfriend recorded for me as part of an album of love song covers. looked him up and he's out winning awards at the cool film festivals. I guess he was cooler than me then and also now. (I am also old.)
I'm 57 and I *also* feel like a perpetual 17 year old. I keep waiting for some kind of magical enlightenment where I don't feel like I'm just faking being an adult.
Gawd, I remember being 6 and looking at teens as if they were the sages of all wisdom. Now I'm in my 40s, and the folk in their 30s inspire in me a bit of a protective mom feeling. That being said, I consider many people younger than me to be wiser than I ever was at their age. I mean, I remember putting oil on my skin ON PURPOSE to get a tan, and reading cruddy relationship advice in Seventeen!

@dicjournal Agree! I have a 12-year-old niece who is very smart about stuff that I was totally naive to at her age. I remember fully believing that an "alien autopsy" photo I saw on the internet was 100% real, lmfao. But my niece is out here lecturing her grandparents to not believe everything they see online 😂
