I don't doubt that this is numbingly tedious, but I still envy Ridley Scott: would that I could helm four eximiously classic feature films, a string of dumb but beautifully-shot features and commercials, and twenty sacks of meticulously crafted shit over the course of fifty years. What a life!

Ellis's early novels are still the most entertaining of all the deliberately dull, self-obsessed fiction that I've read.
