well, my comment about them was about 75% serious, however i used to own some in my teen years and they were such a hassle, the cases break easily, the cds themselves can become damaged quite easily too if you're not careful. if you're the sort of audiophile that insists on the audio quality of vinyl, cds don't have anything to offer in that regard either.
(continued) if you want to listen to them on the go you have to rip them to digital because discmans (discmen?) are super awkward and unreliable (maybe this improved with the years, i don't know). if you don't like plastic being used everywhere, cds are pretty high up in the list of superfluous plastic use.
(MORE) oh also cd players! they get dusty and break and require maintenance and stuff in more inconvenient ways than, say, a vinyl record player. i just think it's an awkward medium that doesn't bring anything to the table that wasn't already there. booklets are pretty cool though, i like those

also i really don't like how they're pushed as collector's items by default from release, having like many versions and crap like that.
