Looks good so far. For the dimensions on other browsers/computers, I'd avoid the 'absoute' positioning of any elements. Any browser window under 1200px is going to cut off some of the content at this point.

Oh the forum's kinda long dead but there's a lot of activity in the site's disqus comments, especially on the webcomic I do now!
I only posted some insect macro photos, but looking back, I think I peaked around then anyway
