I forgot to answer your question, but yes! The '09 plastic Macbook with Mavericks and Momiji browser is able to view websites with CSS and Javascript. My website looks super normal on it. It has a difficult time with heavier websites, though, like with 3d worlds and stuff like that. But it runs my own website just fine.

I did this by accident once when I left my laptop alone while browsing sites, when I came back it was set to someone's homepage, and it absolutely did look like a framed artpiece

I'm really a huge fan of the way you've conceptualized the web as 'geography' and social media as replacing 'places' with 'timelines' where users no longer travel to 'places' but sit and refresh the same websites. It's excellent. Thank you!

Maybe Error666 (now Ruztbug), or Diremptiness, really there's so many I can't choose. Ransei's new intro animation is incredible. There was another I visited recently, I forget the name, but it had such a cool planetary navigation feature. There's some where it's just not even fair, like sdaw. Recently stumbled across Digimechanoid, which also falls in that category.
