þorn looks kind of like a p, ƿynn looks even more like a p. Now you have 3 characters which kind of look like a p, but each are vastly different. Not pleasant for dyslectics. As you may have noted, mny chractrs sm rdundnt. Over time, many languages seem to have reduced the character amount, with the result lower information density, but higher error correction. This is why I consider Chinese relatively primitive.
