Hey solaria! I agree, actually I saw a case of data fudging and they got fired. But yeah, I focused the science page mostly on positive stuff because I don't wanna drag down the web with drama and sadness. I basically burned out and couldn't go on with it. There's a lot wrong with academia. I did really enjoy exploring the fields of psychology and neuroscience though. What area of chemistry did you study?
@pixelglade i didnt get far enough to get into a particular area, i was in my senior year of my chem degree and ended up dropping out because i couldnt see a future for myself in it. part of the problem was that i couldnt come uo with a research project. my gut feeling was to do something with colors, but i felt like i had so much to learn before i could come up with my own research
all research is effectively based on what came before, but colours sound really cool. totally understand not seeing a future in science though
Thanks for the tunes! Did reorganizing the navigation help with fully capturing yourself?
Well not fully (don't know if that's possible) but it helped balance some of the navigation I think to something where I can give greater emphasis to the music section which I plan on filling out a bit more in future! Find any songs/bands you like?
Reworking my site navigation categories helped me feel more comfortable with continuing my site in a way that better reflected more of my interests after feeling like I’d painted myself into a corner. I hope you can find a way to make the sites work for you in a better way too.
Thank you, lostletters. So do I! Won't lie, I have been considering an overhaul of the sites and finding a way to merge them. Not sure if it's the smartest thing but I hate feeling digitally fragmented. Something simple like reorganising the navigation bar or altering a colour scheme or something like that could be a good compromise.
sometimes i'm tempted to delete my site and start again. i've done that several times actually - but now, i regret the writing and memories that i threw away. a change of site aesthetic can be a breath of fresh air for a site that has existed for a while. our personalities and tastes change faster than we can update our sites after all. my own taste has gone from gothic to more cutesy over the last few years.
i think this is the first time i've commented on your page even though you've followed me for a while - so hi!
Hi mirage-island :3 yeah websites are imperfect capsules of time but I guess that's why they're cool. I ended up reorganising the navigation and some of the sub-categories so I can give more emphasis to other areas like music
Thank you!
