Ella is going to be okay. The vet and I were right on our collaboration. She has an issue with her nail - specifically the quick. If you don’t trim your dogs nails regularly the quick can grow to the edge of the nail, nearly out of it, it essentially becomes like an exposed nerve. Rest and pain meds and then I have to be FAR more proactive about trimming her nails so it doesn’t happen again and the quick recedes.

aw! poor Ella. glad it was something simple and not a knee injurgy-etc along that line. ive learned over the years that dogs nails grow fast! need to trim them suckers once a week or they turn into little daggers pretty quick
