I've decided I'm going to take my Dogs page and expound on it for my current dog and make her her own website. Give a follow if that's your cup of tea: https://neocities.org/site/ellsbells

So what’s the process for not having to see everyone’s activity feed posts?

I found a way to hide 'X followed Y' as well as posts like this one, but the caveat with the method I'm using is that it's only possible to hide by type, not by user and such

@pip-pepping how??

pip-pepping's avatar pip-pepping 2 years ago

@isaacfish I have a basic tutorial on how to block single elements/posts, but the process for hiding all posts/follow notifications deviates a little, so I'll create another video tutorial sometime soon! (https://youtu.be/qhakT--Ag4E)

I'm mostly just wanting to block the Twitter-esque shit that's been going on lately, ugh.

I don't have ublock, my browser has a built-in ad-blocker, but might be able to do it with custom stylesheets..

Made a video tutorial on how hide elements of your newsfeed -- like I mentioned before, the big caveat is that you can only block feed items of the same type, and can't choose which users to get posts from. Steps and other info are in the description: https://youtu.be/rKam8JNoE7Q

Alternate method: if you can apply custom CSS to a website (I use the extension Stylus), just apply ".news-item.comment {display:none;}" to neocities - that's currently working for me ^^

Yeah, the inability to block all or none isn't gonna do it for me, thanks tho! Some people - most people - I still want to see their updates. There's some tho I'd rather not. The quest continues.

Whoa, very cool collection of resources and original work - really like the dragony art you have done and the Rarebit link - SICK, THANK YOU.

Thank you! Dragons are just cathartic to draw, can't get enough of them. I just dumped alot of resources as i was building this site, hope they're helpful! There's some brilliant creators here; the rarebit template is such a gold find.

I missed the 5 year anniversary for the single greatest live concert of my life. 5 years plus 4 days ago. Kind of upset the album hasn't already been added to my fave albums page, too. I need to fix the fuck up and focus and both those things need to happen.

I'm one of the older ppl on Neocities who has been around since earlyweb. I left Twitter (and all social media) for a reason. Don't turn my activity feed into that reason, please. And also understand, we are ALL constant works in progress - even my old ass. It's a journey, not a destination. We can all learn and grow. Together.

Everyone, myself included, just need to be mindful of our own words and other people's space online. It's p simple but it seems to be increasingly difficult to find online these days and it breaks my heart.
