For what it's worth, I've had some similar, though still different, experiences of mourning fictional characters. A favorite who was not from a source of mine but who I did feel a deep sense of connection to died unexpectedly. I was devastated and spent some time trying to process it. I also have experienced grief at my own loss for one of my tougher fictionkin sources. All that to say...

I hope it helps to know you are not alone in this experience. Deep connections exist even for fiction and the experience of loss is a unique one

I wanted to hate both Good Omens and The Lego Batman movie because HoW cOuLd ThEy PoSsIbLy GeT iT RiGhT?! But they did and both are wonderful, for sure!
