Today it was my turn to have my content stolen and used for hecking crypto stuff. Please know, I DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH ANYTHING CRYPTO RELATED, do not buy any coins or whatever sh*t that is using my name. Trying to deal with this now :/
"It has come to our [the neocities community's] attention that people have been stealing images and text from various neocities sites and uploading them to a shitcoin site called "pump.fun." They're also impersonating those whom they steal from, linking false Twitter profiles, Telegram channels and fake websites to these shitcoins (example). There's not much reason to worry, though,
though, as most of these coins were essentially dead from the start and are very unlikely to grain traction again. We're currently documenting each of these coins and their related fake accounts to make them easier to report. If your site is being used / impersonated for one of these tokens, please contact me. stealing content won't help tho xD but like, i just don't want to be associated with that in any way. What if someone buys that coin and something goes wrong, they'll point it at me :((((
it sucks for sure, but since they link your site, put a disclaimer somewhere, and if someone got scammed (besides the coin creator)... point and laugh?
uuugh this is so annoying. I added a post to my microblog stating i'm not associated with any crypto/NFT but i should plan a fixed and clear place to state that. It's so sad that people's content get stolen like that, especially by scammers
lol, I just saw on the chat, why do they go through that trouble and do anyone still even fall for those shitcoin?

Terrible, I'm sorry this happened
pirah your a saint, thank you so much! the platform redirected me to a legal email of theirs, but i'll contact this one too, thanks!!
on a quick look at the site though, it seems that people getting scammed are those paying to create those coins believing they will increase in value

that has been happening to me for at least a year now and i started to think its just hopeless unless that whole solana/pump.fun thing goes down
I looked at the site, and it seems like they put https://neocities.org/site/fauux art on several coins too
