i dont know what the source for your f/o is, but for my self insert, i looked for things that the league of villains were missing/lacking and then continued from there if that makes sense .. i also feel like making a moodboard can help a lot with designs. of course if ur f/o's source allows it, you can always just. make your self insert yourself or a romanticized version of yourself ^_^

oh that seems like a good idea! sorry my original post wasnt very detailed, what i struggle with is translating my own appearence irl into a reference/self insert that i can show to artists... picrews aren't very helpful because i just don't feel they get all the little details right but what am i supposed to do send pictures of myself to get a ref made? it feels awkward... >___>
