one thing that really bothers me in the current animation landscape is that serialized, emotional, plot-driven cartoons like gravity falls and steven universe kind of get put on pedestals, yet lighthearted escapist comedies like uncle grandpa and clarence have revieved scrutiny or even overwhelming dislike.

thanks for 50,000+ page views! apparently? i think a lot of my own were counted and rose has noticed the counter seems to be a bit bloated in the past

its a shame pennys pages is barely updated anymore because it's kind of fallen behind with all the juicy lore bits that have happened in the past year and a half

in all seriousness though since neocities is such a close-knit community, whatever drama that does happen ends up affecting most of NC's prominent userbase

i say we make randomly generated discord server that target to different portions of the neocities community. this would create multiple communities and would be fun and cool when members from different communities meet. (jk, unless?)

randomly generated discord servers? you really seem to be pushing for this 'discord districts' idea, and yet i really don't know how effective that would be.

I'm so glad that people seemly liked Penny's Pages, I worked very hard on the articles for it! You know, it's funny that someone should bring it up now, as for about a month or so, myself and the rest of NeoZones have been helping me make it 100% better by having it run on MediaWiki. I don't want to link to it yet as it's still in development, but I REALLY hope that everyone likes it!

thanks for responding! some good topics to cover would be: the brief return of the network neighborhood; the 2019 follower listing mishaps, and maybe an (preferrably unbiased) look as to why the somnolescent group left and the impact it had in the userbase

ive also noticed that even some more light-hearted shows like amphibia, ducktales or even my favorite show OK KO, do incorporate some form of overarching plotline or "deep" emotional moments
as someone who's working developing a lighthearted comedy cartoon, it does make me wonder how people will percieve it if it does become a large-scale production. i dont want people to read too hard into it or look down upon it because it doesnt have an "epic plotline"
