hi snails 👋🖤 i love your personal blog greatly and so happy you share your thoughts with the world, it's great to see! I have PTSD and anxiety attacks too and it's comforting to see I'm not alone
I guess games can be so comforting because they have clear rules and require a certain amount of concentration, so whenever you're playing, you rewire your brain for the situation, and that means that anxiety can go to the background...psychology is interesting to think about!
*note, when I've said anxiety attacks I means "anxiety, anxiety attacks and panic attacks"
thank you for reading - I'm truly so glad this was comforting to you because it was a little scary to write. Ive been dealing with panic/anxiety attack my whole life and it can be so debilitating. I hope sharing my thoughts and experiences helps you as much as it helps me too <3 I also wrote this in part because I thought it was so interesting after discovering video games as a means to cope haha.
The brain and nervous system work in such interesting and mysterious ways lol
