Nothing interesting today, just some restructuring and making those dang image folders consistent. Carry on.

Actually I take it back, could be a good day to re-read my commentary on The Canterbury Tales.

the top 10s series is genuinely a great contribution to society (i didnt even think of unused emojis, fittingly)

No joke, I very nearly wore out a copy of Astro Lounge in late junior high/early high school.

I've used the garlic emoji once to react on an image of a hamster that looked like garlic on Discord. Me and my friend also used to be obsessed with Burkina Faso in elementary school. Not the country, but just the name of it, because it was so fun to say. I also remember its capital is named Ouagadougou, also very fun to say.

You also made me delve into some hecking research on some of these emojis! I guessed right that since emojis originate from Japan, love hotels have some cultural signifigance there which would explain the emoji's existance. Also eyeball speech bubble is apparently from an anti-bullying campaign 😮

I'm adding garlic to all of my digital communications going forward. Thank you for your contribution to digital society 🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄⚜️

@Harakan I did have to look up the eyeball myself because it was so baffling without context. It's a good sentiment, but it's hard to find any info on how effective it's been.

I summarize 120 chapters of a classic Chinese epic but I get the most engagement from a goofy listicle I threw together in 30 minutes. I suddenly understand why modern journalism is the way it is.

Have you considered a Top 10 "tens" article yet? It would be interesting to see how Base 10 stacks up with binary, or how Roman numerals stack up against Mayan stacks up against Arabic.

@Indy Remember, if you skip my summary to go read the actual book, I fade out of existence.

@Asterion HMMMM I really love that idea but knowing me I'll end up taking it and doing something dumb with it instead.

Sounds like a fun idea! I just know I'd probably end up being very inactive and shy. Just like sending this comment has taken me way too long 😅
My previews don't seem to be previewing but I'm doing something plenty dumb, don't you worry
I think so much of the peoblem with tech documentation is people assuming if it makes sense in their head, it makes sense for everyone. A lot of my job is going "oh! Yeah, that's the blue button, don't worry about the instructions," snark free from my end, that I think there needs to be a revolution in how-tos.
It turns out the documentation is not the only thing I have fundamental issues with. STAY TUNED.
> Seems pretty elegant. If you're reading this, I owe you a drink.
happy to see it come to fruition after discussions. anxiously anticipating updates
btw, i've seen it in other ssgs do the "pretty url" thing too and it's so frustrating
And I just learned that Neocities does some trickery to support clean URLs anyway.
