Hi, I do apologize for the double posts in the activity feed at times. Neocities is very direct and simple about detecting updates on sites: you update any file or page, it will post an update—it doesn’t use any “smart” algorithm. In the last update of mine, for example, I merely added a single image, adjusted some formatting, and fixed some typos in “Plastic Love.” https://omegalogic.neocities.org/plastic-love/

I agree we definitely went too much on the side of flashy and skeuomorphic then too far into flat and generic. We need a middle ground and something new!
I don't mind even if people just update one letter or add an HTML comment. Go for it!
The simpler update detection is part of the charm! Plus, it works well for folks who prefer to curate their existing pages instead of adding new ones.
