Oh, hello!! Thank you so much for enjoying my site <33 The guestbook was custom, yes- but it would only be possible to make a similar one if you had access to a database in your site host. Neocities doesn't support that (most likely for simplicity's sake), so that was one of the reasons why I moved to a different host. Also, setting up the guestbook was a bit of a pain, but I wish to make a simple guide.

For context, my idea for it was more complex than the simpler guestbook codes out there, and I wanted full control over the customization. I also wasn't interested in needing to learn PHP just for one thing in my whole site, so I stood wrestling with AI coding just to get it to have everything I wanted. It's far from perfect, but I'm happy with the fact it works and I can manage messages in my own interface too ^^

I'll try and figure a simpler alternative to what I have, because I do know not everyone needs every single feature, so I do hope to get it down in the future!

(i dont use neocities replies often and idk how to reply to your comments so sry lol) thats cool! I don't really plan on hosting my files externally unless i REALLY have to, but for the guestbook ill stick with an embeded one hosted from elsewhere. Html comment box looks good, but its missing is custom emojis. I seen like 2 sites somehow have custom emojis on HCB and I rly wish i knew how to do that.

Ill keep searching for solutions because i really love having control over the aesthetic of my site.
it kinda reminds me of icy tower. Idk if you've heard of that but the logo style is very similar to how that game looks. Love it!!!
I've never heard of icy tower before but thank you so much!!!! <3333
