The yard struggle is so real. Our dog has a neighborhood best friend that catches us outside sometimes and I would die if they got a tick from us and that is my sole mow-tivator this year.

I'm reading a book called Concrete Botany and it has really cemented my belief that hands off yards are much better than lawn. I used to joke in south fl that peeps would stoop to paint their darn lawn just to make it even more fake :p One day I aspire to be a full on garden person that is super hands off, but for now I periodically check on my container mint and parsley plant and triumphantly gloat that they live

Plants are so strange. I feel like they are judgemental. My partner isn't a plant person, but I left him to care for my garden while I was away. Beyond the weeds, it looks great! However, if I baby the plants and do everything I can for them, they wilt. I just think plants hate certain people.

@dicjournal I would love to transition my lawn into low-maintenance native plants at some point. Luckily it's pretty small, so it should be doable eventually

I have the same type of peonies outside my home, so beautiful but frick! I wish the blooms lasted longer than five minutes 🙂‍↕️The weeds in my neighborhood are so bad, I think we are going to try and clover our yard for a lower maintenance, easier on the feet experience
