big, big dig the art of the unripe fig. dig the fig. the work on your substack is rad as hell; are you planning on posting similar art on here, or using the site to other ends? good luck on getting it all set up and launched, i still feel like i'm in a constant state of redesigns and endless toil.

Thank you very much for this kind and encouraging note! I would have replied sooner, but I was still in "new user" jail :D

I'm hoping eventually to have all sorts of different art and writing on my Neocities page. Lots of work to do, but the toil so far has been rewarding :)

when the toil is over, your site is deceased. enjoy the work, looking forward to what you create!

Looking back at old interactions, I've noticed a lot of accounts I really enjoyed and talked to a lot haven't updated anything in two, three, even four years sometimes. There's a chance some of these folks are no longer with us. Most probably just moved on from this little niche web rev thing. Either way, enjoy this space with friendly folks while you can. It ends sooner than you think.

Last night's episode of Techtonic w/Mark Hurst featured Carl Öhman, author of "The Afterlife of Data." Absolutely fascinating interview, avail here: https://www.wfmu.org/flashplayer.php?version=3&show=143612&archive=258097

Some cool stuff I remember off the top of my braino from the episode: big tech are the unwilling stewards of history, and as such, they end up scrubbing lots of important things that are shared on their platforms (i.e. war crimes depicted on video sent to Youtube gets auto-deleted, etc)

By 2070 there will be approx 2 billion dead users of social media, and none of the companies have any plans how to handle this

Modernism rejects the idea of death, social media is a hypermodern platform in itself, and yet we are now faced with forced or willing interactions with dead people on these platforms
