We're getting esoteric in Sarahland, babey!! Do any of you have experiences with the concept of "thin places?"
( But the REAL question is if I'll be up to coding/designing proper list CSS for my diary entry instead of dashes)
OH, and I gush a bit about the original stage production of Into the Woods in my media log. That show really makes me unlock my final form lol ;u;
Do you ever get thin place vibes in non-organic spaces? Like bathrooms? Ever watch dead mall videos?
@amy I've definitely got those vibes from stage theaters before! Something about them feel so electric. I loooveeee dead mall/abandoned place videos, they're fascinating haha!
Little updates, including a small diary entry: https://inkcaps.neocities.org/bedroom/diary/summer2024/
I think I want my next projects on here to focus on like... updating older webpages. Cleaning up their codes and redesigning them and stuff, now that my skillset is more robust! * __ *
glad to hear your fever has passed, hopefully the other symptoms go away soon too! i'm looking forward to seeing the refreshes you give to your old pages!!
@kiley thank you so much!! Each day I'm getting better and better which is really encouraging! I hope you like the changes too! I just uploaded some tweaks to my about and quiz pages--small things, but they really make a difference! ;u; Take care!! ♡♡
I want to do something to celebrate and give back after I recover from covid (cries), but for now please accept my gratitude! Sooo happy this hobby stuck!! ♡♡
congrats and happy birthday to your website! ^^ It is always a joy to see how your website grows and looking forward to all you create in the future. Hope you recover soon!
happy site bday!! always happy to see your updates and all the new layouts you come up with - hoping to see many more milestones!~
happy site bday. it feels like you’ve been here forever. i can’t believe it’s only been a year!!
happy happy birthday to this beautiful cottage! can't wait to see how it grows even more ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-
Ahhhh oh wow, thank you so much everyone! It's surreal to think it's only been a year... but here's to many more! I'm happy we're here together!! ♡♡
congrats on one year!! here's to many more <3 your little cottage feels like such a wonderful little respite from the wider web and im excited to see it grow further, get well soon!
@tabi @kiley the two of you are such sweethearts, thank you for the well wishes! I'm happy that my site can be a respite!! ♡♡
Gave my ship a much needed makeover since it was lacking in (Whimsy)... ALSO I started including commentary for the different ships! More of that (and pairings!) to come when I can think straight "OTL
Oh, next update on this bad boy I'd like to include tropes and stuff that I enjoy!
Added new (old) links, fanart, and sozai/pixel goodies to Princess Guard, along with cleaning up some typos ♡
New diary entry about a bunch of different things. I'm also working on an update for my photo album!
I feel your mood at incompletely archived sites on the Wayback machine. I'm so bummed when going to a graphic site that's full of broken links. :( That's someone's hard work now lost to time
@divergentrays it's a huge bummer! You have to feel for the artists, coders, and everyone/everything was involved in making a website! Imagine that person wanting to look back on it years later, you know? ; __ ;
@ inkcaps youre very welcome. cant wait to see what you add next! and thank you as well! :D - i think she knows it too lol she makes me laugh when she poses for the camera when i dont even have a camera with me
totally with you on your sentiments about archived sites - it really is a rush to go back and find old sites. one of my favorite activities to do online! while I wish all of a site was archived, it's nice to see that some remnant of it still exists. Your Aerith shrine is sooo cute as well!
@amy it's been one of my favorite things to do lately as well! Even if a site isn't archived in its entirely, it's still nice to see the pieces that still do. And thank you for your words about my Aerith shrine, it's my pride and joy haha!! ;u; ♡
I guess Neocities is pushing the most recently updated page out first?? ANYWAY, I added a quick review to the 1982 proshot of Sweeney Todd, cleaned up my last diary entry a bit, and most significantly, updated my character wall!! https://inkcaps.neocities.org/library/characters/
nice work on getting through the semester!! your talk of thin places was so interesting– certain religious sites i'd visited over the last few months definitely felt a bit "thin", so to speak!
@kiley thank you so much, it's a little surreal almost being at the end but here we are! I'm so glad you found my diary entry interesting as well. ;w; Those sites you visited must have been beautiful--would love to hear more about them sometime!! ♡
I'm trying to think of thin places I have been - hmmm the woods at night when it's really dark. I don't really consider new orleans to be one - there's a lot of life there for sure. Unless there's a hurricane. Like the eye of a hurricane is definitely a thin space
@mutterbutter the eye of the hurricane must be the most surreal place to be. I've always been fascinated by stories of those who found themselves in the middle of it, where everything's calm but they see the storm raging all around them
