i don't personally feel comfortable with the idea of posting on newgrounds. it has a history of being pungently bigoted across the board and being full up of some of the most rancid stuff on the internet. is a website with this kind of baggage REALLY as good as a platform for animators gets???

REAL ASF like there’s plenty of great artists on there, but when I think of newsgrounds, I think of the bigoted work from the past
I've tried Newgrounds in the past since I know the founder is really trying to branch out the site and go past that reputation. Unfortunately I've found that unless your work immediately pertains to the core community (animation collabs on NG stuff you might not care about, FNF, 2010s flash humor, etc) then it's kinda lonely. Sure there's other artists that cross-post there but you can tell they don't main NG
I have the same issue! I'd love to finally start posting my art somewhere that isn't social media or my site, but when I get reccommended NG, I just frown. Whether the content there is still as awful as it was or has gotten better, I just can't make myself comfortable with the idea of posting there, let alone making an account there
Oh god I feel this 100%. I don't think I've ever really used Newgrounds for more than like, five minutes in the past because it always feels *impossible* to avoid coming across that kinda stuff. Someone needs to make a direct competitor fr.
it has a substancial amount of warts but the thing to keep in mind is that it has those warts purely because it's been around since before the turn of the millenium. as for posting art there, it's strange to admit but compared to all the other options, NG is the one that will allow for the most creative freedom/meeting of like-minded persons compared to every other option available
