I know this wasn't the point of the essay, but do they not sell peppridge farm frozen coconut cakes in your area? The thought haunted me even after closing Neocities.

That’s exactly the cake I was thinking of. Admittedly it’s not representative of all coconut cakes, but I remember loving it as a kid. I haven’t had one in years though

Years ago for Christmas, my mom gave me a giant pasta bowl. Like, I am pretty sure it would take two pounds of dried pasta cooked to fill this bowl and it certainly didn't fit anywhere in my kitchen. So I decided it was a cat bowl and put it on my coffee table. After a few weeks of hesitation, one of my cats got in it and it has been a cat bowl ever since.

As someone who still uses an RSS reader daily, I'd love to see a list of sites that have a feed. I want more sites to follow. Also spent some time trying to figure out how to make an RSS feed just this past weekend. I think I figured it out. Maybe.

i do wish the default feeds were a little more robust lol, "[site] has been updated" can mean anything from "i changed a few lines of css" to "i completely rebuilt my site from the ground up." i maintain a separate feed for my blog posts through my SSG but ik a lot of folks don't have the knowhow to do that

I set up an rss feed of my book reviews rather the generic neocities rss feed: https://rotheche.neocities.org/booksrss.xml is the feed.

yeah, like the sleep (em is a font's native size, relative to the parent element; rem is a font's native size, relative to the document)

To simplify (and generalize) a bit, rems and ems are relative units; they're good when you want a measurement to be flexible based on a font size.
