I agree that 'indie web' spaces focus too much on 'revivalism' (even though a lot of people aren't actually basing from what the internet really was at that time but just a 'mythic' image of what it was like), when there's so much more to be found in thinking of hand-coded websites as orienting towards a better future for the web. ive seen a lot of discussion about this - my current assumption is that this is the end of them calling it "Super Sentai" and they will likely continue making something much the same in its place by a different name. this is because of the terrible deal Toei signed with Saban in the 90s that allowed Saban to make Power Rangers and gives them ownership over anything Sentai basically anywhere in the world outside Japan

awesome, thank you!! glad to see another tokusatsu fan out here in the neoweb, good luck on your shrine! i am keeping up with zeztz, i'm not sure how i feel about it yet - exaid's one of my fav series but since then takahashi has been writing flops so my expectations are a little tempered haha. its interesting how much theyre targeting the usa/global audience with it though, and the surreal dream imagery is funnn
