I wish I adopted this idea sooner - there's quite a bit of art from Japanese Geocities sites (for an old game nobody knows/remembers) that's just gone forever now. I have a piece on the pinboard in my room that was printed out in 2005 and it may be the only surviving copy of this particular piece of art.

the online art community definitely influenced a lot of how we see art. a lot of arguments for not reposting art lie heavily on the monetization of art, which is an entire thing that also sucks. on the other hand is the intimacy of the art; I wouldn't want others repurposing something special that I created. but then if I really didn't want that to happen, I would know to not just share it online

art seeps deep. it's kinda wrong to birth such a thing into a big world only to leash it up. we really can't control what other people do to our art but I don't think we should see that as a bad thing unless it literally kills you or something

as I write about my ocs I finally butt heads with my self-imposed rules and came across a case where it's a limitation that I don't like. I'm going to be removing the "no graphic/explicit material" rule in the next update. I only put that there because I don't want people to jerk off to what I write but that's impossible... who am I to dictate what people jerk off to let me write my evil writings!!!!!!

your site's very cool :] i like the theming slash names for the sections, and i rlly love your kiibo n kiyo shrines. kiyo was one of my favorites so it's nice to see people appreciate him. the dead dove mosaic is cool also, ive yet to host any of my fic or poetry on my site but when i do i'll likely apply. v cool all around :]

I'm considering implementing a different color for visited links to let people be able to distinguised which pages have they already visited. the visited links will be a darker red like deoxygenated blood, but eventually every link will be visited and become dull like that, which I think is lame. I really like the look of the bright red links.

I've noticed this as a problem in general. It's nice that links change color once visited, but then they all end up the same color which kind of defeats the purpose. (And they remain that way until the user clears his history or whatever...)

Here's an idea: maybe use a cookie or localStorage to keep track of when each link has been clicked on, and then use JavaScript to gradually restore them to the brighter color. (So if it was recently clicked on it becomes dull, but with each passing day it becomes a little brighter, until it eventually becomes fully bright again; but each time it gets clicked on it goes back to dull)

I do want visited links to look unvisited when there's new content in it. I thought of using a css class for this but it didn't suit all cases on the viewer's end. the localstorage/cookies is a good idea. a link will be permanently visited-colored unless I updated it recently, and it reverts back to visited-colored when the viewers checks out the new content

it's permanent but customized to the viewer like the pattern themes on my homepage. though I think I'll also make this entire feature optional and toggleable
