i think i need to switch distros. not that there's anything wrong with mint per se, but it kinda treats its users like idiots. not as bad as windows but like. i need more control. looking at either debian or endeavouros (leaning more toward the latter)

a bit of a critique for you, my friend: you seem more worried about hypothetical -- and material -- threats to us & those on our soil than the fact that we just killed a fuckton of real people and we've been doing so for decades. it's not just Trump. i know you know that, but you seem really, really focused on him. he's just the latest in a long line.

true. trump is doing shit totally mask-off that the us government has otherwise been doing in secret for about a century. it's only that when the russian foreign affairs minister starts saying things like "radiological crisis", i get a trefoil shaped pit in my stomach.

i wanted to make a longer post about this but myrient is shutting down because of 3 key factors: 1) traffic increase, 2) 3rd-party download managers, 3) AI. I'm going to do the full page, but i wanted to mention those 3 things in the meantime.

Hi everypony, I probably won't be adding very much to my site for bit just because I am bit burnt out on this side of things, and I am having to write so much for school. I doubt it will be long before I find something to add or create but for now, I just wanna take a little break :P

cachyOS is one that i fuckin LOVE, gives you a bunch of options for desktop enviroments from the installer, and so far has done me wonderfully, treats me less like a dumbass LMAO (though it requires internet for the installer to work properly so the install isnt like 50gb LMAO)
I am trying to use Mint right now, since I support the project as a starting point for new users. But yeah, I totally understand wanting to be in the driver's seat. Debian is my comfort zone for that sort of thing. I got frustrated trying to mess with Arch and CachyOS and retreated back to Debian- and Fedora-based distros pretty quickly. Best of luck!
i will admit arch is a bit of a learning curve (please clap) so its understandible that people choose debian and fedora more :3
I kinda like Mint because *am* a bit of an idiot, at least when it comes to maintaining my system. I just wish Cinnamon's wayland support was more mature like KDE and GNOME. It's one area where Mint's conservative approach has been a little annoying to me.
