Neocities is such a nice place. But I feel like I have an obligation to be less here and more at annoying sites where annoying people are (Reddit? Hacker News?), to weigh up the balance at those places. We can't just complain at the misinformation and bad vibes on those sites, we also have to do our part to fix it.

Sites like Reddit are where disoriented people ask for help, but the answers they get are from other disoriented people, because they are the only ones who want to be there at all. That's where we who know something should be to give better answers to the disoriented people (without getting caught up in the culture and becoming as disoriented as the rest over there).

Duncan's corner yelled "SURPRISE ELBOW!" while he was defending his neck from Moicano. He tried it(it didn't work) and in doing so allowed Moicano to get the sub. One of the funniest things I've ever heard in the sport.

I don't want plans, goals, ambitions, visions, etc. I want to wait for opportunities and ideas that feel right and just hop onto them. I want to be better at filtering out the right moments from the wrong ones, so I can more easily find the right ones. If these moments were trains, then in this metaphor I'd want to live near the trainstation (preferable a connection point where many trains meet, like in Hamburg)

To maybe explain the metaphor better: Normally people would like to get a faster train, or a better train. Or rush to the train to get on it. Or buy tickets in advance so you don't miss your schedule. But I just want to live near the train station and catch a train when the opportunity strikes.

I plan to do the unthinkable... I'm going to finish my website. Expect things to be quiet for a while as I finally build out the "Main Works" page, the big thing I've really been wanting to make on Neocities. In the meantime though, a small update on sticker counts and such. Stay tuned

Guardians of Azuma- character LITERALLY says "Bravo!", localizer changed it to "Splendiferous!" All of these stupid little unnecessary changes, never mind the censorship they're infamous for, they all add up to drive me insane.

It's bad enough when a character says one of the handful of Japanese words that I know, and I can see the text is wrong. When they SAY AN ENGLISH WORD and it's still changed--that's just next-level. This is the real enemy of all mankind. There will be no peace until the last English jrpg localizer has been peacefully removed from the world.

To be able to do anything easily: Find what you intrinsically enjoy or naturally care about. What comes naturally to you, what do you automatically do between the musts and shoulds and chores? What will you do regardless of money, fame and acceptance? Practice and become even less attached to the results. Then, don't think too much before taking the first step (you know nothing yet), just take it and learn from it.

With the right intrinsic motivation, the next steps will come naturally and you'll eventually gain enough experience to be able to make realistic plans, judge your own work objectively, filter out your wrong preconceived notions and common societal myths (because you know the truth from practical experience), and gain skills in your domain, so that you can improve and get further.

Not doing it for results (money, fame, acceptance, success, whatever), also makes it easy to remove ego. Without ego you'll see people's criticism of you, as well as your own self-criticism, for what it is and not let the emotions arising from them control you and make you give up or cater to anyone.
