oh, Smiling Friends doesn't make me smile. Like I've watched a bunch of compilations of it and it's not really funny. But it's also not really uh... bad, I think it's an ok show. I liked the bit where Bill Nye gets electrocuted, that was cool. And I did appreciate a bit where a bookshelf has The God Delusion and all the books surrounding it are science books for children. And Cosmos. That's like something I'd write.

Just said "I could use another one". Praying the Rosary is fun again, we're so back 🙏 the key's the memorization, once you don't have to check words/steps/mysteries anymore it's so much more enjoyable. / Also, i watched Smiling Friends for the first time. / Also Front Mission is shockingly good so i like games again

I don't know why we can't have beautiful things in the world anymore. Cars look attrocious, remakes look abhorrent, architecture is souless. Just like you said, these game companies spend more than a third world's GDP with all of this bleeding edge hardware and they barely look any better than 7th game consoles (It's arguable that they look worse in some ways).

Finishing the game at the start of 2026 (mid January) will require extraordinary methods. Or just doubling down on the ordinary methods. Or reducing the scope and focusing on the core. But somehow, I think continuing the same way as I've done so far will make it work, even if it doesn't feel like it. I'll trust that.

I will also be less experimental and go with more and more safe concept towards the end. Like "best of notacarclub" where I bring back some racing and some characters that worked in the previous game. So I know I have some stuff that will work in this game too.

Today was a big day for the kbrecordzz source code fans. The function "cut_set", responsible for most events in the whole game, was divided into 5 separate functions.

++saw a trailer for some Merlin series, thought "Is that Brett Cooper?" It was. It doesn't look great. Brett does, but the series doesn't. It looks thousands of times better than the BBC's Merlin though, so that's something. I don't think the 1981 Excalibur movie will ever be topped. (I had my parents watch it after they saw BBCMerlin and it completely blew their minds) But maybe it'll still be worth watching.
