i cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how to get image masks to work. I've only tested locally so far but I'm worried it won't work once it's hosted here... and i see other people get masks to work on their sites!! pls pls pls if someone knows why let me know. i followed the w3 css masking tutorial

soooo re-reviewing my 2025 reviews is on hold... while looking though them i realized how many of them were sad and violent, and i don't need to see anymore of those things right now. so instead i'll be adding a bunch of fluffy reviews! yay for avoidance!!

also am pissed off @ whoever controls CatBox.Moe cus what do you mean specific images from a very specific date are unavailable now and you still haven’t fixed it??? I am disabled it took me over a year to code my website and now I have to go back and fix it and idk if that’s really fair to me or other users lmfao

if you want a more stable host try dropbox or filegarden ( more people can see these also, catbox has a lot of restrictions imposed on it)

dont worry about having to update your site often, nobody really sets any expectations on this side of the web. you update whenever you feel up to it! also i mostly host images myself on my site but ive used imgur to host my first web buttons for pretty much the whole existance of my website and i dont think its ever failed me (yet...).

working on redesigning my review page has turned into me re-reviewing the majority of my 2025 entries, adding 3 new pages, re-designing my journal layout, and re-formatting some of my spaghetti code... so i guess v2 coming soon??

what makes a website mobile friendly other than having a set viewport tag and media queues? I’ve also been trying to add max-width instead of absolute pixels but… how does one know if it’s working? >_<

when im webbing my site, the browser i use (firefox, the dev flavor to be precise) has a "mobile viewer" in which you can test the responsiveness of your site by giving you a resizable box. you can even preview how it would look like on certain devices. i personally tested your most recently updated page (your blog page), and it seems to be working fine!

also i didnt answer your first question just realized: i think this largely depends site to site, but some few things i keep in mind: (1) youd have to hide away a lot of things that would only make sense on a nice, wide monitor. navigation buttons should be stashed in a menu, preferably at the top. make sure that things are not too small on mobile screens. links should be easy to press, especially navigational ones.
