Still very rough, but i got past the first section and have started talking about my own asexuality. I was in a very poor mental state when I started this page, but I feel much better now. As I continue to elaborate and edit this, the tone will likely even out and be less defensive/reactive. I plant to talk about my aromantism, flag opinions, and my relationship with my buddie!

So proud of you for being open about your aroaceness!! It's comforting, in a weird way, to know that The Discourse still haunts other aroace folks, too. In my article on my site, where I came out as aroacespec shortly after realizing it ( https://ballonlea.net/articles/demiaroace ), I didn't even mention The Discourse, because I, like you, generally desperately try to pretend it never happened. And it's so annoying to be on Tumblr and see people laugh it off as a "cringe discourse phase". Like you said! What was so cringe, the asexuals or the harassment?? (cont)

Like, I'm glad that people have grown up enough to realize that it was ridiculous to be arguing about, but it wasn't JUST "cringe". It was bigoted. It was a form of harassment. So many online asexual communities were torn apart because of it, and we're STILL recovering. Anyway, all of this to say, this was a cathartic read for me and very relatable. I hope you will continue to share your aroace experience with us!

Thanks for sharing your experiences too!! And God that sounds so awful, trying to archive queer stuff and running into That, oof :( and I'm glad I'm not alone in this, and that talking about it can help others who also went through it feel seen <:)

augh i was actually wanting to find that link by coyote again + the timeline of anti-ace blogging by ix as well, thank you for including them ... god i was on tumblr during that time too, though my memories are very vague of that time period, but there's forever a root left behind that bringing up being aspec will just get dismissed and will forever be on the outside of the community bc of it

solaria, i am so proud of you🫂 i cant imagina how scary it must've been to think of all this and to write it down and im so happy you did that anyway. the modern wave of anti-ace violence has affected me irreversibly as well, and i think the ones who were hit most by it just learnt to be quiet, to hide, but we were always here. being aroace in this world can be tough, but you were always queer, you were always valid

When I was at school (and this was in the mid 90s), there was a lot of bullying that went on towards people who didn't have boyfriends/girlfriends, etc. I didn't matter regarding the reason why - people were bullied. You don't have anything to be ashamed of - it's the bullies and people who harass who do.

I have started finally making a page on asexuality and aromantisicsm, its a rough emotional draft at the moment, with no styling whatsoever, hence I am not posting it yet, but I hope, that despite it being difficult for me to write about, that it will help others feel a little less alone <:3

in fixing the table styling in my dyslexia guide (my oldest guide!) I teaked the quide itself a little bit, the same idea, just a few more examples. Tweaked Mark and Joe's pages. Added two links i think. Gave my webcomic recommendations their own page with little comic samples! In doing so I also added a boat load of symbols to my symbol page while looking for non-emoji clock symbols

added my vampire fangs to my crafts page! I didn't know which category to put them in and I wanted them to be up top, so I did away with broad categories and organized my crafts mostly by reverse chronological order (not a strict organization so there are exceptions)

This is my first ever time seeing a crafts page for you, im in LOVE with it! By the way i think in hindsight making orange yellow white light blue blue wouldve been possible for one aroace star bottle — but considering that craft is from good old 2021, i think you mightve had the same thought since then haha!

@ratlands I daydreamed briefly of having my own little travel truck where I'd make people custom fangs but I'm most hesitant about the last step where i would have to put uncured acrylic in someone's mouth 😭 you aren't even supposed to breath in the fumes of that stuff. It would definitely be a very involved process with the patient overall.
