I contend that the truth concerning the sinking of the Titanic is better than any hoax. For instance, you could tell people that there is no evidence that the Titanic was in "a race" to get to New York and be perfectly justified. You could also state that having binoculars in the crow's nest would not have saved the Titanic and have strong evidence to support it.
